Before you book

Direct EduMentor sessions and Wyzant sessions use different booking and billing arrangements. Confirm the rate, timing, and applicable terms before your appointment.

Homework and projects

Yes. Bring your assignment, your attempt, and the point where the reasoning breaks down. Get step-by-step explanations, code review, debugging, feedback, and practice with related problems.

Exam preparation includes reviewing concepts and practicing problems. Your submitted work remains your own; live-exam assistance and completing an exam for you are outside the service.

Rates and payment

Your lesson rate is agreed with your instructor before booking. The tutoring pricing policy says payment is taken at the end of the lesson. If you are dissatisfied during the session, raise it with your instructor before payment.

Wyzant bookings: Wyzant handles its own rates, billing, and any platform fees. Its booking terms apply to sessions arranged there.

Satisfaction and refunds

Direct tutoring: the EduMentor pricing policy says you will not be charged if you are dissatisfied during the lesson. Tell your instructor during the session. After payment is processed, sales are final and refunds are not offered, except where applicable law requires a remedy. This does not remove non-waivable consumer rights.

Wyzant: its Good Fit Guarantee covers the first hour with a tutor. Request the refund through Wyzant if that first hour is not a good fit.

Cancellations and rescheduling

Lessons booked through EduMentor: review the cancellation notice period before accepting the terms. Cancel by the exact deadline shown for your lesson in My bookings for no cancellation charge. Later cancellations and missed lessons are charged the full agreed session rate. Each confirmed booking keeps its accepted terms, even if the notice period changes for new bookings.

Lessons arranged on Wyzant: follow the terms agreed on Wyzant and contact your instructor there about cancellations. Wyzant terms do not replace the EduMentor terms accepted when booking through this website. Receiving a meeting link does not itself create an EduMentor agreement.

To reschedule an EduMentor lesson, cancel it and book another available time. The original lesson keeps its cancellation deadline. For an older booking, consult its recorded deadline and the arrangements originally agreed.

Preparation, Zoom, and recording

Send the relevant problems, course materials, project instructions, and your attempt before the lesson. Direct sessions are planned for 60 minutes on Zoom, with a stable internet connection and the software your course uses.

Arrange any session recording with your instructor in advance and obtain all required permissions. Your Zoom link is in My bookings when it is ready. When public EduMentor booking opens, confirmation and cancellation emails will be sent to you and your instructor through Amazon SES. Confirmations will include Zoom links when they are ready. Automatic reminders are not enabled. Until then, arrange lessons and confirm meeting details with your instructor through Wyzant.

Your learning plan

The service includes a personalized learning approach, custom worksheets and materials, and feedback. A plan starts with your syllabus, current gaps, and next deadline, then identifies what to review and practice.

The interactive subject guide shows sample plans. Your instructor refines the sequence around your work and goals; it is not an automated assessment or a promise of a particular grade.
