A quick overview. The sections below explain the details.
Who you are working with
Mapping Our Thoughts LLC provides this educational website and the EduMentor tutoring service. “We” and “our” refer to Mapping Our Thoughts LLC; “you” refers to the visitor, learner, or authorized adult arranging a lesson.
These Terms describe permitted use of the website and apply to direct lessons when agreed as part of the booking arrangement. Review the lesson-specific terms before confirming. The arrangements shown and accepted for a booking control its scheduling and payment.
Mapping Dynamics LLC is a separate company. Visiting its linked website does not purchase or enroll you in a Mapping Our Thoughts service.
What the service provides
Lessons provide personalized explanations, practice, feedback, debugging, and guidance in the agreed subject. We support coursework, independent learning, research skills, business learning, career transitions, and interview preparation within the instructor's agreed scope.
Bring the question, relevant instructions, and what you have tried. You remain responsible for your submitted work and for following your school's, employer's, or assessment provider's rules. We do not take exams, impersonate learners, or complete assessed work for submission as someone else's own.
Website demonstrations and example game plans illustrate ideas. They are not individualized assessments or guarantees of grades, exam results, employment, or business outcomes. Educational discussion of privacy, law, security, or finance is not professional advice for a particular legal, financial, or operational decision.
Booking and joining a lesson
Use accurate information and an account you are authorized to use. Keep account credentials, meeting links, and shared workspace access private. A parent or guardian should arrange and manage bookings for a minor.
Selecting a time does not reserve it. EduMentor checks availability when the booking is confirmed. Check the saved date, time, and time zone in My bookings; the booking's saved time zone is used for cancellation deadlines.
Sessions are normally 60 minutes on Zoom unless a different arrangement is expressly agreed. Have a working connection and the software or materials needed for the lesson.
Your Zoom link is in My bookings. Select Join lesson when it is ready. When public EduMentor booking opens, confirmation and cancellation emails will be sent to you and your instructor through Amazon SES. Confirmations will include Zoom links when they are ready. Automatic reminders are not enabled. Until then, arrange lessons and confirm meeting details with your instructor through Wyzant. Check My bookings before each session and message your instructor on Wyzant (opens in a new tab) if the link is missing shortly before the lesson.
Rates, payment, and satisfaction
Your rate is agreed before booking. The agreed session rate is saved with your booking. Booking in EduMentor does not itself charge a payment card. Payment is arranged after the lesson through the method agreed with your instructor.
If you are dissatisfied, tell your instructor during the lesson before payment; you will not be charged for that lesson. After payment is processed, the direct-tutoring policy is that sales are final and refunds are not offered, except where applicable law requires a remedy.
Contact your instructor about a billing error or a lesson that was not provided. This policy does not remove any non-waivable refund, dispute, or other consumer rights.
Cancellations and changes
EduMentor uses a notice period measured in hours before the lesson starts. The current notice period and each selected lesson's exact cancellation deadline are shown before you accept the booking terms. There is no separate midnight rule for new bookings.
Cancel by the deadline shown in My bookings for no cancellation charge. Exactly the required notice is sufficient. Later cancellations and missed lessons are charged the full agreed session rate. Dates are displayed in the time zone saved with your booking.
Your confirmed lesson keeps the terms accepted for that booking. A later change to the notice period does not change your existing deadline. Older bookings retain their original arrangements and may have a different deadline.
To reschedule, cancel each affected lesson and book a replacement. A replacement does not remove a late-cancellation charge for the original lesson. If the lesson has already started or something unexpected prevents attendance, contact your instructor.
If your instructor cancels, the student late-cancellation charge does not apply. Contact the instructor to arrange a replacement or resolve any payment for an undelivered lesson.
Wyzant and other services
A Wyzant session remains subject to Wyzant's applicable booking, billing, cancellation, and refund terms and the arrangements agreed there. Direct EduMentor terms do not replace them. Conversely, Wyzant terms do not replace the terms you accept when booking through EduMentor. A meeting link sent through Wyzant does not itself create an EduMentor agreement. Use Wyzant messaging (opens in a new tab) for questions about a Wyzant lesson or its fit.
Zoom, GitHub, Miro, Overleaf, hosting, and sign-in services have their own terms. Use an account and subscription suitable for your work. A shared link in EduMentor does not grant permission within the destination service.
Your work and teaching materials
You retain the rights you have in the work you share. Give us only the permission needed to access, review, and use it to provide your requested instruction and related service administration. Sharing work does not transfer its ownership or grant permission to publish it or use it in advertising.
Share only material you own or are allowed to use for the lesson. Keep projects private and share access exclusively with the people in your lesson. Remove confidential employer, client, research, and personal information unless appropriate sharing arrangements have been made.
Mapping Our Thoughts content, software, and original teaching materials belong to Mapping Our Thoughts or their respective owners and licensors. You may use provided materials for your own learning, subject to any stated license. Redistribution, resale, or publishing another person's work requires permission unless allowed by law or the material's license.
Agree on recording in advance, obtain all required permissions, and confirm who may access it and for how long. Do not publish or distribute a recording without those permissions. Nothing in these Terms restricts lawful, honest reviews or legally protected use of content.
Responsible use and access
Use the site and services lawfully and respectfully. Do not impersonate another person, share unauthorized account access, attempt to obtain other students' records, bypass access controls, introduce malicious code, or disrupt the service.
We may pause or restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect people or information, address misuse, or manage a service interruption. Restricting an account does not by itself cancel an existing lesson, erase records, or resolve a payment issue; those matters must be addressed separately.
Availability and legal rights
We aim to keep the website and teaching examples useful and accurate, but errors or interruptions can occur. Free website content and demonstrations are provided as available, without a promise that they are complete, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular project. This does not excuse an agreed lesson or a responsibility imposed by law.
To the extent applicable law allows, Mapping Our Thoughts LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of this website, its educational examples, or third-party tools. This limitation does not exclude fraud, intentional misconduct, or any liability or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Applicable law determines the consumer protections and courts available to you. Nothing here requires you to waive a non-waivable right. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
Questions and changes to these Terms
For a lesson or policy question, contact Mapping Our Thoughts LLC through your established instructor contact channel or message on Wyzant (opens in a new tab). Include enough information to identify the booking, without posting private details publicly. See our Privacy Policy for information requests.
We may update these Terms and the effective date. New terms apply to future arrangements; a posted change does not retroactively change the rate, cancellation terms, or other terms already agreed for a confirmed booking. Where a change requires notice or a new agreement, we will provide it.
